The Traka SmartFob is a compact, lightweight device providing unique, electronic identification of every key in the HC key cabinet. The system recognizes and records every time an item is removed or returned for a complete audit trail and staff accountability.
The fobs remain unlabeled for resident safety, but keys can be located quickly using convenient search and filter functions at the cabinet. Attaching the SmartFob to keys takes just seconds, and the secure design prevents tampering for enhanced security.

When keys are removed from the cabinet, it’s crucial that they remain unlabeled for resident safety. A key marked with a unit number can become a great liability should it fall in the wrong hands.
By simply inserting the fob into the back of the SmartFob ID Reader, your staff gains fast electronic identification of keys in the field. This helps facilitate safe and efficient bulk key checkouts for routine maintenance activities or inspections.
The device can also display any needed precautions or reminders related to the unit, such as a hearing impaired resident or large dog on premises. This information is easily entered into the administration software, and is automatically displayed to any user identifying the key when away from the cabinet.
When not in use, the SmartFob ID Reader is charged in the HC key cabinet, and managed the same as your key inventory with controlled access, monitoring and tracking.
