Production Specialist (Keying)
Job Summary
The Production Specialist will work under the direct supervision of the Warehouse Supervisor. Will work as part of a team having responsibility for the set up and operation of machines to cut and copy keys to meet business expectations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- (15%) Set up/Operate machines to cut and copy keys.
- (15%) Disassemble locks and replace tumblers, springs, and other parts.
- (15%) Lock and cylinder preparation, assemble and disassemble locks.
- (15%) Master keying function, pinning the key cylinder.
- (10%) Package finished products and prepare them for shipment, including labelling of product
- (5%) Maintain accurate records of company locks and keys.
- (5%) Read sales orders to understand customer requirements for keys and locks.
- (5%) Maintain, test and adjust equipment as necessary
- (5%) Observe and adhere to safety rules and practices.
- (5%) Test completed keys to verify conformance to specifications and examine completed work pieces for defects.
- (5%) Participate in weekly cycle counts and physical inventory.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Profile
- HS Diploma or GED is required
Required Skills
- 1-2 years experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment is preferable.
- Experience with small part assembly
- Excellent hand/eye coordination with the ability to handle small parts.
- Prior experience operating a forklift a plus
- Must be able to work in a team environment as well as work independently.
Work Environment:
- Working conditions are normal for a non-climate controlled warehouse environment.
- Frequent walking, standing, bending, twisting, pulling, reaching, and stooping.
- Must observe and adhere to all safety rules and practices, including PPE requirements.
