Head of Service Operations
We are looking for a Head of Service Operations within Product Area Service, a part of the Business Segment Pedestrian(BSP) within the Entrance Systems Division of ASSA ABLOY.
In this role you will have the opportunity to have a significant impact on our business by driving our service performance up, together with and for our Business Units.
You will report to the Head of Product Area Service and be part of the Product Area’s management team. You will be based in Europe, with regular interactions and meetings with our central team based in our Landskrona, Sweden office.
As your stakeholders are key managers in our Business Units across the globe, you will be expected to travel when and as required, as well as be able to build strong networks with key interfaces within and outside of the Product Area Service.
Role responsibilities:
As the Head of Service Operations, you will have full responsibility for BSP service operational performance, driving operational improvements together with the Business Units.
The Service Operations area covers both the field and back-office operations. It consists in performance management, organizational topics and operational performance improvement:
- Performance management consists in regular service reviews with BUs, monitoring service KPI, defining areas of improvement and following BU’s action plans.
- Organizational topics are addressed jointly with the Head of HR: organization structure, roles, job descriptions, skills, career ladder, salary structure.
- Operational performance improvement consists in supporting BUs in their operational plans, building on the lean operational culture and the BSP operating system (BOS) to drive continuous improvement and reach tangible impact.
Your day-to-day work will include building strong relationships with Business units, developing and sharing best practices, in order to reach our improvement targets.
As part of the Product Area Service management team, you will be expected to contribute to the overall strategic direction and success of the Product Area.
One of your priorities will be to continue to grow and build an organizational culture based on, and act as an ambassador for, our values Empowerment, Innovation and Integrity, as well as the ASSA ABLOY Group and ESD strategy, vision and culture.
About you:
To be successful in this role we believe you need to have a thorough understanding of service processes and the culture to drive service performance with a structured and process-oriented approach using sound fact-based problem savings approach. Further, you will benefit from having a record of leading successful teams and projects in a fast-paced service organization, with a strong business and financial acumen, preferably in an international and multicultural business environment. Having an experience of lean operations with the associated tools (5S, RPS, Kaizen, …), building organizational capabilities, conveying a culture of empowerment are all important aspects of the role that will give you an additional advantage in this position.
On a personal level we are looking for someone who is result and business oriented with a “can-do” approach, persistent and with high integrity. Operational and hands-on, with the ability to work both strategically and operationally. You will need to be a strong communicator and approachable leader with good understanding and experience of working in a matrix structure.
High proficiency in English, this being our corporate language, is a must, together with a degree in engineering, business administration or similar, and/or documented experience from successfully running similar operations in a similar industry.
