Managing Director
As our Managing Director, you will be fully responsible for the execution and development of the business in the country and logistically support the export activities from Poland. This includes both the strategic development of the company as well as the day-to-day execution. You will also have a strong focus on profitable sales growth, both organically and through acquisitions.

What would you do as our Managing Director
Reporting to the SVP Central Europe the jobholder will be required to grow the HW business in Poland. The growth should be delivered by developing the sales channels, and the vertical sales team, introducing new products and providing excellent leadership to the organization. Other areas of responsibility will include streamlining the brand portfolio and developing logistics solutions to serve our customers in an excellent way. The jobholder should also have a focus on improving the profitability by diligent cost control, margin improvements and by implementing pricing strategies that allow the company to be competitive with a good bottom line. The MD will be also responsible for the logistic support of export activities from Poland.
You would also:
- Have P&L responsibility for the business unit.
- Run the daily activities of ASSA ABLOY Commercial HW Poland with strong focus on sales and organic growth.
- Establish and execute growth plans for the market as well as develop the channel strategy in Poland.
- Establish a vertical sales organization with end user focus.
- Drive SKU reduction/optimization within the region as well as the pricing strategy in line with the EMEA methodology in the region.
- Be responsible for Product Management within the region.
- Ensure that EBIT, cash flow and other KPIs are managed properly.
- Develop the skills and competence of the management team in Poland so that there is a good succession plan of the business and not just the current one.
- Liaise with the other Country MD’s within Central Europe to ensure that best practice is shared, particularly in relation to innovation, and that each country supports its peers in driving the business forward.
- Identify acquisition targets in the region.
- As a member of the Central Europe Management Team, help define the strategic direction for the region.
The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in business management; MBA or master’s degree a plus.
- Has an extensive broad-based commercial experience with several years in a senior sales or business development leadership role. Specific experience working with multinational teams in Eastern Europe is desired as is experience in culture change.
- Specific proven experience in growing businesses in Poland, operating a large network of distributors, and ability to thrive in a fast paced, unstructured environment.
- Must be able to instill confidence in business leadership team, with highest level of Business Ethics.
- Has excellent communication and presentation skills as well as fluency in Polish and English (spoken and written).
- Is prepared to travel extensively within the region and occasionally outside of it.
