JOB SUMMARY

Applies test automation principles and techniques to support the development and commercialization of electromechanical access control products. Responsible for internal test fixture development as well as the design and deployment of off-site test fixtures. Firmware/hardware test automation background with an interest in applying this experience to electromechanical devices.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily:

  • Design, develop and maintain production test solutions to support electromechanical products both during development and after launch. Requires ability to take limited design specifications to develop test coverage across PCBA and end-of-line test fixtures.
  • Support electrical production lines, troubleshooting and root cause failure analysis of electrical components/assemblies. Provide metrics and documentation to support root cause.
  • Communicate and coordinate with third-party fixture developers, as required, to support product timelines. Determine complexity, timelines and cost analysis of internal vs. external tester development.
  • Guide and direct a cross-functional team through necessary pre-production builds to ensure a clean transition to production builds by non-technical line workers.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in electronics including creating analog and digital designs with embedded microprocessors. Schematic capture and PCB layout experience in Altium.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in mechanical fixturing to support test functions on electromechanical products. Requires the ability to integrate and test mechanical actuation solutions as part of test.
  • Formally report product status and testing results in a timely fashion.
  • Apply fundamental engineering principles to design challenges while being aware of the implications of cost, schedule and manufacturability of the product.
  • Support, maintenance and extension of LabVIEW controlled test fixtures with hardware designed in Altium and SOLIDWORKS.

Individuals who need reasonable accommodations to enable them to perform these essential functions should discuss their needs with Human Resources.  EMS will provide reasonable accommodations to such individuals unless doing so would impose an undue hardship on EMS or the individual is a direct threat.
