Database Administrator, DAS EMEIA

What you would do as our Database Administrator
You would collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to ensure the optimal performance, security, and reliability of our database systems. Your responsibilities will include participating in Research and Development initiatives to ensure proper database design from the outset, maintaining and analyzing production databases to support our SaaS environments, and ensuring they meet established requirements and business objectives.
The position requires occasional travel across the EMEIA region. While most shifts occur during standard Monday to Friday office hours, you will be expected to work on weekends approximately once a month.
You would also:
- Manage and maintain SQL databases across multiple SaaS environments.
- Ensure the security, availability, and performance of databases.
- Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schemas.
- Monitor database performance and tuning SQL queries for optimal performance.
- Ensure regular database backups, restores, and disaster recovery operations are functional.
We are looking for someone who:
- Possesses comprehensive experience with MS SQL Server.
- Has experience with database monitoring tools and metrics as well as being confident in troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
- Has wide experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Is knowledgeable in database backup and recovery procedures.
- Communicates effectively and builds strong relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You are a driven individual who thrives in fast-paced environments and consistently delivers on deadlines.
Ideally, you would have experience with other database technologies, such as MySQL and PostgreSQL, as well as knowledge of cloud database services like AWS RDS. Additionally, certifications in ITIL, security, SQL, or database-related areas, along with familiarity with DevOps practices and tools, would be beneficial.
