Product Manager

This is an on-site position that will be based out of one of the following locations: our Orlando, Florida regional manufacting facility (Service Center) or either our Curries brand located in Mason City, Iowa or our Ceco brand located in Milan, Tennessee. However, this role will be supporting multiple locations that fall under the Door Group umbrella.

What would you do as our Product Manager?
You will work closely with the Door Group product management team, sales organization, and operational business units on research, new product development, product life cycle management, product launches, and sales opportunities. You will be involved in the development of the product road map, marketing strategy, competitive pricing, positioning, and messaging of all products. They will be expected learn and execute the new product development (NPD) process from inception through launch.
You would also:
- Direct rapid new product development efforts for products from concept definition through product launch, working closely with Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Manufacturing.
- Manage product development timelines for new product launches.
- Lead team meetings and maintain new product development documentation through defined processes.
- Develop product road maps in line with the company strategy of innovation and market leadership.
- Evaluate different product category segments to identify new product opportunities.
- Analyze product category life cycle including continuous analysis of portfolio performance and profitability and recommend appropriate actions including cost reduction through outsourcing or Value Analysis/Value Engineering, price adjustment, rationalization, etc.
- Develop an expert understanding of competitors product offerings, programs, pricing, and overall strategy. Maintain robust competitive database including detailed competitive product comparison including features, performance data, and pricing. Identify gaps within their offerings that can be leveraged.
- Collaborate closely with sales and marketing in the development of technical materials including product catalogs, price books, instruction sheets and videos, product presentations, advertisements, press releases, etc.
- Participate in / present at product training sessions, including both in person and virtually.
- Collaborate with pricing team to enact appropriate pricing actions to maximize market share and profitability.
- Manage product life cycles, SKU rationalization, and product portfolio decisions.
- Research and document areas for future product introductions.
- Special projects as assigned.
- Actively participates in providing a safe and harmonious working environment for all employees.
- Assures compliance with federal, state, local and corporate governance policies, regulations and laws, AADG programs and policies and the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
The Skills and Experience you need:
- BA/BS degree in Product Management, Marketing, Engineering or other related field (combined with experience)
- 5+ years of product management or technical commercial product experience
- Proficient using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Project (or another project management / Gantt chart software)
- Previous experience in hollow metal door and frames manufacturing a plus
- Comfortable handling multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
- Ability to hold others accountable to ensure project deliverables
- Ability to communicate effectively and influence your audience via correspondence and presentations
- Occasional travel required (US, Canada and Mexico)
