Traka grows rapidly, building upon its initial success, gaining many major accounts and opening up extensive overseas markets. Traka won the Queen's Award for Enterprise Innovation in 2004.
The Traka iFob is developed and quickly becomes established as a cost-effective access control solution for keys. The solution is adopted across a number of applications vehicle management, data racks in IT data centres., Banks and cash-in-transit sorting centres.
In early 2007 Traka moves to new premises, tripling its production capacity, and introduces new solutions in its product set to meet the increasing range of client applications. Innovations included a new range of intelligent electronic lockers using RFID technology to safeguard and manage access to assets such as PDAs, laptops, cash trays, security radios and small weapons.
Again Traka wins The Queen's Award for Enterprise - this time for International Trade! Our worldwide export trade now accounts for some 50% of annual turnover.
Traka touch is introduced as a new standalone solution with a touchscreen to help organizations manage keys and equipment without network access. Full user access managment and reporting could be managed through the system itself on an embedded version of Traka 32.
In 2010 Traka systems are widely adopted by retail giants such as ASDA and Tesco and in Prison and Police custody suites as well as, Industrial Plant Equipment and Mining through to Universities and Colleges. The systems are established as a means of minimizing physical loss or damage to company property and equipment and help reduce operational downtime in the drive for efficiency.
TrakaWEB is introduced. The web-based, software administration tool that provides a full suite of reports and controls over systems anytime, anywhere. The system provided revolutionary access to controls from a variety of endpoints including laptops, desktops and phones.
Traka is acquired by ASSA ABLOY in April 2012 making us part of the multi-billion pound global leader in door opening solutions.
Traka acquired eTag solutions which provided a software tool for the automotive industry. With eTag software specifically tailored towards the automotive industry, alongside Traka key management systems, it provided the ultimate end-to-end solution for automotive dealerships.
Traka21 is launched which provided an entry-level of key management that required no network installation. Traka 21 quickly became a popular plug-and-play, easy-to-use key management system, that stores up to 21 keys and different access levels can be programmed within the system.
Traka Netherlands established after acquisition of NoRisk KeyManagement B.V. in Berkel en Rodenrijs.
With a growing presence in EMEA, Americas and Asia Pacific, Traka moves to the ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions organization. Traka Africa established after acquisition of distributor in Johannesburg.
ASSA ABLOY acquires KEYper Systems, a leading supplier of electronic and mechanical key management systems in the US with a strong presence in the automotive segment. KEYper became a separate business unit of Traka following the acquisition. Traka Oceania is established after the acquisition of distributor in Sydney.
