TrakaWEB release 4.2

This software upgrade includes the following key components:

  • TrakaWEB 4.2.0
  • Traka Touch 3.5.0
  • Integration Engine 2.22.0

What’s new?

Exchange of custody lockers

This new cost option feature for non-RFID lockers enables you to control the secure exchange of used hard drives that are destined for erasure and disposal by contracted third-party specialist organizations.

This solution ensures that these used hard drives are secure and cannot fall into the wrong hands between their decommissioning and their final disposal.

What’s improved?

Temporary deposit lockers

This feature allows locker compartments to be freed up when no longer in use or if compartments need to be emptied and made available for use again.

This new functionality increases the flexibility of this feature and means that customers can maximize the utilization of their available locker capacity.

iFob setup

The new iFob setup process offers two options:

  1. Replacing an iFob: If you need to replace a broken or lost iFob with a new one or a previously used iFob. When you do this, the new iFob will keep the same Items and history as the old iFob.
  2. Setting up a brand new iFob: If you have a completely new iFob, you can choose this option. It allows you to set up the new iFob without transferring any previous Items or history from another iFob that might have been assigned to the same system or position.

These options provide more flexibility and make it quicker and easier for customers to manage the movement and setup of iFobs and items in different systems. This way, you can adapt to changing needs or specific situations without complications.

Controlling API access

Added the ability in the Integration Engine to turn on/off the Integration Engine API endpoints, with the default of APIs being turned off in a fresh IE installation.

This facility increases security for customers who do not leverage the Integration REST API but are using the Integration Engine for Real Time Update Service, or customers wishing to prevent access to call APIs until further configuration is carried out.

SSL/TLS transport encryption by Default in the Integration Engine

The default for installations of the Integration Engine will be 'SSL enabled' to encourage the use of encryption.

This option aligns with our best practice recommendation for data transfers between the Integration Engine and TrakaWEB being encrypted, ensuring that communications are only based upon the certificate trusted chain.

Existing customers now have access to this release.
